Thinking Out Loud

Okay I’m jealous. I really do like this template here on Pixie Tail… but the one on Thinking Out Loud… oh my, that just appeals to me and is gorgeous. I love the colors, the rose, and the layout. I am really picky with skins, and very very few actually appeal to me.

Anyway, it’s a great, fun blog to visit. And she talks about her kids and their wonderful teachers. Teachers are so important. I don’t remember any really good ones from school, I wish I did. I do love to hear about great teachers, though. And her son got a nice happy surprise too! You should go read it over there. ;)
Her blog could use a personalized favicon, though. The Wordpress favicon is kinda boring. :) But I like favicons!

She Geek and PyroWinter

Oo too cool! Someone else who is liking Doctor Who! :) I am loving the new Doctor Who Series as well as Torchwood, though I write about them more on Luna Tail (though I do wish I could dream of Captain Jack Harkness more!.. that’s where the Lucid Dreaming comes in, right?). Anyway, cool blog, I’m also a She Geek so I can relate.

She also has the blog PyroWinter, which she is doing some work on, and has a very nice layout. I really love the menu bars that go to the very top of the page and would like more skins like that!

Random Blogging

I wonder what other people dream about, and would love to find more dream diaries. :) Although Jenn doesn’t have a dream diary, she has three very cool blogs. Free Goodz is a great resource for finding inexpensive things that help us to save money.

Informal Critique is a daily fun blog where she records life and blog reviews and anything she feels like writing about.

Everyday Randomness is her new wordpress blog, and I love wordpress blogs! She has allergies.. which totally suck. My husband and one dog have allergies and they are always complaining about them. I am lucky that I don’t have allergies!

Forum Finder Debates

I love a good debate. Though sometimes I just read about them instead of participate. And sometimes I just don’t have a major opinion. The Forum Finder Blog has a debates category that has some interesting posts.

One is that a guest speaker at Boulder High School in Colorado told kids to have sex and do drugs. LOL I think that’s funny. Actually, why not? Kids are going to do it anyway, aren’t they? So why not teach them how to do it in a responsible way instead of saying don’t do these things at all? Hrm.

A Blog from Lorla

So I’m surfing around today and finding some interesting blogs… and this one is quite fun. Lorla’s Blog. :) Fun name.. I really do like the name of the blog. Lorla… kinda rolls off your tongue. I wonder if that is her real name or an alias.

Seems, like me, she blogs for money. :) Blogging for Money has made blogging very fun for me. And I’ve met a lot of great people who do the same, and I find reading their blogs very interesting!

So I’ll be checking back with Lorla!

Lazy Day

Today I’m not going to do much of anything. Probably going to do some Linky Love for some people on all three of my blogs. :) So if you see random linky love posts that is why.

I remember waking up about midnight last night and remembering a dream… but since I didn’t write it down and just went back to sleep, I don’t remember it now. Oh well.

My new PJs are comfy though!

Faith Floats

Is that a cool blog name or what? Faith Floats. I love it. I think of all my domain names, I like Pixie Tail the best so far. :) Though Tip Tail is a close second.

Ooo but LOL this is not about me! I love domain names, and Faith Floats is a very cool one. A Xanga blog. Mandi also likes the book Where the Sidewalk Ends, which I also love. Very cool book! She also doesn’t like loud rocky music, just like me. Ugh, I hate heavy metal, who ever came up with that stuff?

She has another blog, too, The Official Mrs. Rugged. LOL another name I love. She is very creative with blog names! And her son has a new pet. Looks like a gourami. I love gourami fish, they really are beautiful. I had some of those years ago. Fish are more work than I can do now, though, with four dogs and two cats and tons of dog sports. :) Having a good aerated tank, even for one fish, is a good thing. :) Anyway, check out her sites!

New Jammies!

Oooo I went to Kohl’s today and bought new pajamas. Since this is sleep related I thought I’d make a short post about it. ;) They are shorts and a tank top. Nice and cool for the summer since it’s been so stinking hot lately. Ugh.

I have them on already, and I hope to sleep good tonight. Though I did sneak some of those darn Chocolate Chips in already. :(

Too hot to sleep

It’s too hot to sleep at night. We have our swamp cooler on low all night long, and still it’s warm. Well, I do like my blankets, though. And I don’t like cold air blowing on me all night so I keep the door a little closed so that it doesn’t blow right on me from the hallway. It’s what… 70 degrees at night I’ve heard? That doesn’t make for peaceful sleep.

I don’t remember dreams last night. I didn’t eat any chocolate chips either before bed. :) I watched Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, then did some surfing on the web, then went to sleep. So nothing big. Slept okay. Levi woke me up once to go out, and I had to get up to go to the bathroom anyway.

So not much new. LOL. I’m driving to Logan today to see if Mac gets a home.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I love Fantasy.. and Sci Fi, and Fantasy…. LOL. I really love Harry Potter. I think the Harry Potter books and movies did for Fantasy what Star Wars did for Science Fiction. Or maybe it’s just my perception.. when I was a kid (and even now) I loved Science Fiction and Fantasy. I have always loved Fantasy more so, thinking that maybe I was magical once, in a formal life or in a parallel universe, and now my magic is gone and I wish I had it again. Though when I was a kid I was picked on relentlessly for liking both Sci Fi and Fantasy. So when Star Wars came out and everyone loved it, I felt… vindicated somehow, if that makes sense. Sci Fi is good stuff!

Harry Potter is Quality

Now I feel vindicated about Fantasy as well. See, Fantasy is good! As has been proven with Harry Potter. The Harry Potter phenomenon has crossed all sorts of cultures and societies. From kids to adults, many millions of people have jumped on the Harry Potter train (errr.. that would be the Hogwarts express, would it not?) and the world has been swept away by magic, owls, broomsticks, butterbeer, and wands. When I was a kid I thought wands were kinda dorky, not as ‘cool’ as staffs, but now I think wands are just as fun (and yes I do own one thankyouverymuch!).

Harry Potter Swept the World

Harry Potter is not only in English anymore, it has been translated into 67 languages! I wonder if that’s a record (that is according to Wikipedia, of course). Wow that’s amazing. So Harry is all over the world enriching people’s lives and giving them new worlds to explore and learn about, and enjoy.

JK Rowlings has done an amazing job as an author. With each book that comes out, I wonder if it will be as quality as the last. And it is. I’m impressed. Much too often do we find sequels get worse and worse as their numbers increase. But not so with Harry Potter. I have loved each one. Though Book Five, Order of the Phoenix, is my favorite book, while so far Movie Three, Prisoner of Azkaban, is my favorite movie. (You know if you misspell a name from Harry Potter in Google, it’ll give you the correct spelling of the name. How popular is that?)

Harry Potter Characters

The Characters in Harry Potter are people which you cannot help but to love. From old (how old is he anyway?) Dumbledore (his name is an old Devonshire word for “bumblebee” per Wikipedia), to Colin Creevey, the annoying kid with the camera who followed Harry Potter around in his second year… all the characters are full of life, spunk, and wonder. It makes me look around my own world and try to see the extraordinary in ordinary people.

Book Seven is Coming

July 2007 marks the coming of book seven, the last book in the Harry Potter Series. It’s going to hit the market like a nuclear warhead… well, though not with destruction, hopefully, but lots of fun and love instead. I am thinking of going to the book release, but I’m also thinking of buying the book online. http://harrypotterthedeathlyhallows.net/ will be donating $1 of every purchase of their sales to two charities, Save The Children and The Global Literacy Project. So that is an awesome place to support. And time is running out, so really I need to buy soon! So that I can get the book on release day, close myself in my house, and read it straight through until the end.

I am dying to know what happens! What do you think about book Seven?
